Description

This Mercedes C-Class new gearbox is a brand-new, factory-sealed unit sitting on our shelf in East London, still crated and never fitted. This one is the automatic version. It carries a 12-month warranty and ships anywhere in South Africa in two to five working days.

Price is R50,400, down from R63,000 while the 20% discount runs, including 15% VAT, with a full tax invoice on every sale. Send us your VIN or engine code on WhatsApp before you pay and we will confirm the fit at no charge, so you are not guessing about which Mercedes C-Class gearbox you actually need.

What you get with this Mercedes C-Class new gearbox

  • The complete gearbox with bellhousing
  • Selector housing and shift linkage mounting points as removed
  • The stock code recorded on your invoice
  • Photographs of the unit before it is crated

Clutch kit, flywheel, torque converter bolts, mounts and the gear lever assembly are not included unless we agree otherwise in writing. On an automatic, budget for a fresh oil and filter service once it is in.

Checking fitment before you pay for this gearbox

Most of the trouble people have with second-hand parts starts here. The same model year can carry more than one gearbox, and a photograph on a listing tells you nothing about which one you are looking at. So we check it for you before money changes hands, because getting the right Mercedes C-Class gearbox the first time is a lot cheaper than a return.

Send us three things on WhatsApp and we will come back the same working day: your VIN, the code stamped on the unit you are replacing, and a photo of the old part where you can see the mounting points. The VIN is on the licence disc, on the plate at the base of the windscreen, and usually stamped into the body under the bonnet or in the door shut.

If it is not a match, we say so. That is the whole point of the check – we would rather lose the sale than take back a unit that was never going to fit. Send your VIN through here or message the yard directly.

How this Mercedes C-Class new gearbox was tested

New stock does not go through our used-part bench process, because it arrives crated and sealed from the supplier. What we do check is that the part number on the crate matches what we ordered, that the packaging is intact, and that the unit has not been opened or fitted. The crate stays sealed until it is on your workshop floor.

We do not publish mileage on stripped or imported units. We cannot verify an odometer reading and neither can anyone else selling you one, so we leave the number off rather than print something we cannot stand behind. The full testing process is written up here.

Warranty, payment and delivery

This Mercedes C-Class gearbox carries a 12-month warranty from the invoice date, covering internal mechanical failure – block, crank, bearings, gears, shafts and valve seats. Ancillaries, sensors, injectors and turbos sit outside that cover, because they wear on their own schedule.

The one condition is that it goes in at a proper workshop and you keep the fitment invoice. An RMI-accredited workshop is the safest route, and their invoice is all we ask for if you ever need to claim. Full warranty terms are here.

Payment is EFT or card, and we will take a 50% deposit to hold a unit while your workshop books you in. Every sale gets a full VAT invoice. Your Mercedes C-Class gearbox is delivered in two to five working days door to door inside South Africa – engines and gearboxes go on a pallet, heads and rims by courier – and five to ten working days to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini and Lesotho. Orders over R25,000 ship free inside South Africa. Delivery and cross-border detail is here.

Collection from the yard in East London is free by arrangement. Bring the old unit with you and we will put the two side by side on the counter before you load anything.

Questions we get asked about this Mercedes C-Class new gearbox

Will this Mercedes C-Class new gearbox fit my C-Class?

Send us your VIN and the code off the unit you are replacing, and we will confirm it before you pay. The same model year can carry more than one gearbox, so we check rather than assume. The fitment check is free and usually comes back the same working day.

What does the 12-month warranty actually cover?

Internal mechanical failure – block, crank, bearings, gears, shafts and valve seats. It does not cover ancillaries, sensors, injectors or turbos. The unit has to be fitted by a qualified workshop and you need to keep the fitment invoice, which is the only document we ask for on a claim.

Do you publish the mileage on this gearbox?

No. We do not publish odometer figures on stripped or imported units because we cannot verify them, and neither can anyone else selling them to you. We would rather hand you a tested Mercedes C-Class gearbox with a warranty on it than a number nobody can prove.

How long does delivery take to Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban?

Two to five working days, door to door, anywhere in South Africa. Engines and gearboxes travel on a pallet; cylinder heads and rims go by courier. Orders over R25,000 ship free inside South Africa, and we send a tracking reference as soon as it is collected.

Can I pay a deposit and collect later?

Yes. A 50% deposit holds the unit while your workshop books you in, and the balance is due before it ships or before you collect. Payment is by EFT or card and every sale gets a full VAT invoice. Collection from the yard in East London is free by arrangement.

These sit on the shelf next to this Mercedes C-Class gearbox, are in stock now, and ship on the same pallet if you take more than one, which saves you a second delivery charge.

Buying a Mercedes C-Class new gearbox without getting burnt

Ask three questions of anyone selling you a gearbox: what code is on the unit, what was done to test it, and what the warranty covers once it is fitted. A seller who can answer all three in writing is worth paying a bit more for. We put the code on the invoice for exactly that reason.

What to give your workshop when the gearbox arrives

Send them the invoice with the code on it, the photographs from the listing, and the delivery note. A workshop that knows which gearbox is coming can order gaskets and fluids before it lands, which usually takes a day or two off the job.

Buying this Mercedes C-Class new gearbox from outside the Eastern Cape

Most of what leaves this yard goes to Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, and a steady trickle crosses the border. You do not need to be in East London to buy a Mercedes C-Class new gearbox from us – the fitment check happens over WhatsApp and the unit ships to your workshop.

Stock, lead time and what happens after you pay

Everything listed on this site is stock we hold in East London, and we restock the fast-moving lines continuously. Once payment reflects, the Mercedes C-Class new gearbox is packed the same or next working day and you get a tracking reference by WhatsApp.

There is no per-order limit. Workshops regularly take several units at once, and a 50% deposit reserves the Mercedes C-Class new gearbox and fixes the price if the job still needs a week to be booked in.

Tested stock versus the cheapest listing you can find

There is always a cheaper Mercedes C-Class new gearbox somewhere. What you are paying less for is usually the testing, the code on the invoice and the warranty, and those three things decide whether the part goes in once or twice. A second fitment bill costs more than the difference on the part almost every time.

We are not the cheapest yard in the country and we do not pretend to be. What we do is tell you exactly what you are buying, put it in writing, and stand behind the Mercedes C-Class new gearbox once a qualified workshop has fitted it. That is the whole offer.
