Checking fitment before you pay for this alloy rim set
Most of the trouble people have with second-hand parts starts here. The same model year can carry more than one alloy rim set, and a photograph on a listing tells you nothing about which one you are looking at. So we check it for you before money changes hands, because getting the right 17 inch alloy the first time is a lot cheaper than a return.
Send us three things on WhatsApp and we will come back the same working day: your VIN, the code stamped on the unit you are replacing, and a photo of the old part where you can see the mounting points. The VIN is on the licence disc, on the plate at the base of the windscreen, and usually stamped into the body under the bonnet or in the door shut.

How this 17 inch alloy was tested
Every used 17 inch alloy we list goes through the same four steps before it is photographed and priced. It is slower than the way most yards work, and it is the reason our prices are not the lowest in the country.
- The donor vehicle is run up before anything comes out, so we hear the unit working rather than guessing from a compression figure alone.
- The unit is tested on the bench – compression and leak-down on an engine, every gear through the gate on a gearbox, pressure-tested cold and hot on a cylinder head.
- The code is read off the casting and written onto the stock record, which is what ends up on your invoice.
- It is photographed as it stands, with no cleaning up for the camera, and only then does the 17 inch alloy go on the shelf.
We do not publish mileage on stripped or imported units. We cannot verify an odometer reading and neither can anyone else selling you one, so we leave the number off rather than print something we cannot stand behind. The full testing process is written up here.
Warranty, payment and delivery
This 17 inch alloy carries a 3-month warranty from the invoice date, covering internal mechanical failure – block, crank, bearings, gears, shafts and valve seats. Ancillaries, sensors, injectors and turbos sit outside that cover, because they wear on their own schedule.
The one condition is that it goes in at a proper workshop and you keep the fitment invoice. An RMI-accredited workshop is the safest route, and their invoice is all we ask for if you ever need to claim. Full warranty terms are here.
Payment is EFT or card, and we will take a 50% deposit to hold a unit while your workshop books you in. Every sale gets a full VAT invoice. Your 17 inch alloy is delivered in two to five working days door to door inside South Africa – engines and gearboxes go on a pallet, heads and rims by courier – and five to ten working days to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini and Lesotho. Will this 17 inch alloy fit my car?

What does the 3-month warranty actually cover?
Internal mechanical failure – block, crank, bearings, gears, shafts and valve seats. It does not cover ancillaries, sensors, injectors or turbos. The unit has to be fitted by a qualified workshop and you need to keep the fitment invoice, which is the only document we ask for on a claim.
Do you publish the mileage on this alloy rim set?

How long does delivery take to Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban?
Two to five working days, door to door, anywhere in South Africa. Engines and gearboxes travel on a pallet; cylinder heads and rims go by courier. Orders over R25,000 ship free inside South Africa, and we send a tracking reference as soon as it is collected.
Can I pay a deposit and collect later?
Yes. A 50% deposit holds the unit while your workshop books you in, and the balance is due before it ships or before you collect. Payment is by EFT or card and every sale gets a full VAT invoice. Collection from the yard in East London is free by arrangement.
Is a second hand alloy rim set a safe buy?
It is, if the seller tested it and will put that in writing. A 17 inch alloy that has been run and checked is a different thing to one pulled off a wreck and photographed. Ask for the code off the unit, ask what was done to check it, and ask what the warranty covers. We run every alloy rim set before it comes out, record the code on your invoice, and back it for 3 months once a workshop has fitted it.
