These new engines are factory-sealed units, still crated and never fitted. They do not go through our used-part bench process because there is nothing to test – the crate stays closed until it is on your workshop floor.

What we do check is that the part number on the crate matches what was ordered and that the packaging is intact. The warranty runs twelve months from the invoice date on internal mechanical failure, against three months on used stock.

New makes sense on a vehicle you intend to keep for years, or where the used market for your engine code is thin. If the rest of the vehicle is sound and you want the best value, a tested used engine with a warranty usually wins on price – we will tell you which way we would go if you ask.
